Fundraising

Fundraising need not be daunting. With a little bit of planning, you can have a lot of fun raising money for a great cause. In 2021, FitPrints for Good raised more than £xxthanks to the incredible fundraising efforts of the MUFG EMEA team.

This year we’d love to smash that target and every penny your raise will make a huge difference. So, here are our top tips to help you reach your personal fundraising target.

Setting up your fundraising page…

1.     Personalise your Just Giving page

Details make a big difference! When you set up your fundraising page, include a photo of yourself in your FitPrints for Good t-shirt, and add a short message about why you’re getting involved.

Get the ball rolling by making a donation – it will inspire others to be generous.  Don’t forget to update the page with any cash donations, too.

2.     Set yourself a target

Set a personal fundraising target on your Just Giving page. This will give you something to aim for and a reason to update your friends and family on your progress.

Remember, you can always increase the target when you reach it - just to encourage the donations to keep coming in.

3.     Don’t be shy, share!

The biggest reason people don’t give is that they’re simply not asked! Use Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, and even a line in the footer of your email to share what you’re doing.

If you’re not on social media, then send an email to your friends and family to tell them what you’re doing and how they can give.

Keeping everyone informed…

 4.     Say ‘thank you’

Every time you get a donation, send a personal thank you. You could use email, text, WhatsApp, or just give them a call. Consider sending handwritten notes to those who make sizable donations.

This helps people feel involved in your challenge – and some may even increase their donation, or give a second gift when you’ve completed your miles.

 5.     Keep people updated

You can get more than one bite at the cherry by letting people know how you’re getting on and the impact they're making.

Send out photo or video updates via social media or email throughout your challenge so others feel part of your journey. Don’t forget to include fundraising updates too and remind people of how they can give.

 6.     Celebrate your success

When you’ve completed your challenge, send an update and thank you to everyone – even those who’ve not yet given. Use photos or a video message to grab their attention.

20% of donations come in after the event, so this is a great way to engage those who haven’t get given and encourage others to make a second donation.
